This has been my daily go to breakfast now for sixteen months… I don’t miss a single day.
It’s that yummy and that healthy.

I am a shameless fan of smoothies. I love anything that even remotely tastes like a milkshake! 🙂
Since breakfast is a super important meal of the day, I like to have something on hand that will jump start my metabolism and get my tummy in good shape right from the start.
As a mommy who has had to invest a lot of time, energy (and, yes, money) into getting my digestive tract healthy, I am especially conscious of making sure I get enough enzymes and probiotics on a regular basis.
For years, I dealt with the very-not-so-fun symptoms of IBS. Much to my surprise, the missing link in my health issues was not fiber… it was probiotics, enzymes, and a gluten allergy.
As a busy homeschooling mom, I never, ever, ever skip breakfast. But I don’t always have time to do anything fancy or complicated, so something QUICK that includes my daily regimen of vitamins, probiotics and enzymes is a no brainer for me.
This shake does it all, folks!
And, you might say, it kind of gets me going in the morning. And that’s very good news for a girl who has dealt with IBS. 🙂
So, here’s how I make my super yummy, healthy breakfast smoothie.
By the way, if you’re expecting something complicated, you’re about to be disappointed. Sorely.
I am a low maintenance gal, so I do things that are easily accomplished in the least amount of time.
This smoothie takes about sixty seconds to make and has a total of three ingredients.
What I use:
- almond milk
- my favorite Lifestyle shake mix
- my blender
First, you’ll need some fruit! I love to use frozen strawberries in my smoothies to make them nice and frosty, but you an use whatever kind you like best. For this smoothie, I used one banana and about one cup of organic, frozen strawberries (from Aldi). A slightly over-ripe banana adds extra sweetness, by the way!
Place about 12 ounces of liquid into your blender. I use a Blendtec (this pretty, red one), so I just fill my pitcher up to the 12-ounce line with unsweetened almond milk. You can use whatever kind of beverage you like- orange juice, whole milk, raw milk, coconut milk, almond milk. If you have kefir on hand, that would be a fantastic, healthy option, too!
Next, I grabbed my Thrive Lifestyle shake mix. This is the fantastic product I discovered sixteen months ago by Le-vel. It’s a super nutrient-dense mix that is full of protein, raw vitamins and minerals, amino acids, and premium grade probiotics and enzymes.
I’ll give you a break down of the nutrient content of the shake in a minute, but for now… I just use one scoop of the Lifestyle Shake mix and sprinkle it right on top of the almond milk, banana and frozen strawberries.
Time to make a smoothie! I usually remember to slap the lid on the pitcher. Usually.
Yes, I have literally “blown up” my smoothies by forgetting to put the lid on my pretty, red Blendtec before I hit the “smoothie” button.
Anyway! After the lid is securely in place on the pitcher, I hit the “smoothie” button and watch it whirl. It’s pretty and pink (from the strawberries)! And frothy!
After about 49 seconds, the smoothie is DONE.
That’s a nutrient-packed breakfast shake in under a minute.
So healthy and delish!
I have always been a “breakfast person,” but many mornings I find that this smoothie does the trick for me.
It’s protein-rich, so it satisfies my hunger, plus revs my metabolism for the day.
The vitamins and minerals give my body a good boost in the morning, the amino acids feed my brain, and the enzyme and probiotics get things moving in the right direction.
That’s a mean breakfast shake, if you ask me!
I rarely go a morning without this nutritious shake, and if I do skip a few days I can tell a huge difference in my digestive health.
Now, let’s take a quick look at what all is in this breakfast smoothie (besides the almond milk and fruit, that is)-
